Engineering Graduate & Scholarly Talks: Strengthening your NSF Proposal

I sat on a panel of NSF GRFP Fellows for the purpose of advising engineering students on how to strengthen their applications for the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program. The event was organized by the IDEA Center at UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering. My focus was to stress the importance of expressing individuality in the NSF application. Too often students focus solely on their accomplishments while neglecting a presentation of their personality.
