Triton (Virtual) Tutor
UC San Diego’s HDH Wellness and Engagement has partnered with UC San Diego Partners at Learning to create the Triton Tutor program. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, many students have struggled to keep up with their classes, as remote learning is a new obstacle for them. The aim of the program is to assist student’s in the K-12 system during the era of social distancing. The tutoring sessions will occur via Zoom, and the sessions will be monitored by several moderators.
I have volunteered to join the Triton Tutor program, providing tutoring in physics and mathematics at a middle school and high school level. The program runs through May 22, with one-hour sessions available Tuesdays and Fridays 5-7 PM (PST). The program gives priority to students attending a Title I school within San Diego Unified School District. However, there are often more tutors than students, so the program is open to those interested (perhaps those outside San Diego).
